Hey everyone,
I was wondering if anyone can help me with installing/wiring my MTX 800watt Amp. My decks all done and this is the last stage of my project, but i have ran into some trouble.   What is the best way to power my amp. Ive looked under the hood of my ford and was stuck for a good 2 hours on what I can do to power this thing. Any info would be great. Cheers
( The firewall is behind the eng. and I dont see any openings to let me in. )

In my '01 Taurus I drilled a small hole just below the brake pedal, where the linkage meets the floorboard.  Then I stuck a coat hanger through until I saw it on the engine side.  That showed me there was a way there.  So I drilled the hole bigger and inserted the wire from the car side, taped to the hanger.  Pulled it up through the engine bay and to the battery.

It's impossible to see at a standing position, and I'm not sure even if you can see it if you were supine underneath the car.

Use at least 4 gauge wire and a fuse close to the battery.  And BTW, the Haynes manual I have lists the '99 and the '01 as the same car.

If you're installing the amp in the trunk, you can find switched and unswitched 12 volt wires along the sidewall near the trunk-mounted OEM amplifier....if you need them for anything.

Build the box so that it performs well in the worst case scenario and, in return, it will reward you at all times.

Is there any other way without drilling a hole?
There must be another way.
