Ohms in subwoofers and amps

I am Beggining to understand the combination of the amp and speaker but i am not sure about the factor that the amount of ohms the speakers and amp need.  could someone [please let me give me some advice on what kind of amplifier i should get to power 2 Kicker 05S12L5-4, 12" dual 4 ohm voice subwoofers with

50-600 watts RMS

and 1200 watts peak power handling

there is alot of amps that would work with those subs . with dual 4 ohm subs you can wire them up at 1ohm or at 4ohms. how much do you want to spend????

I would wire series/parallel for a total 4 ohm load, and use a two channel amplifier that will put out a bridged output of about 500 watts RMS into 4 ohms.

The alternative is to wire them parallel/parallel for a total 1 ohm and use a high current mono amp.  This solution will be the most difficult to achieve because most high current amps will produce much more than 500 watts RMS into a 1 ohm load.

i would look at both possablitys i have found monoblock amps that are in that power range . are you looking to run closer to full rms power handling or are you wanting your subs to last a long time?
