Does anyone who has a Clarion head unit or deals with Clarions know what the purpose and function of the dimmer control is?  I have a DXZ535, which I've had for three years, and thus far I have no idea what it does.  I'm pretty sure it's a 2003 model.  The owner's manual says nothing about it, other than how to adjust it.

When the car lights are turned on, the display dims. The amount that it dims is what you change in the "adj." menus. It is a positive input to the deck on the ORANGE / white.
