Sub and Amp Question

Does anyone have any opinions on the Bazooka EL1500 for an amp?

I was also thinking of the Pioneer Premier TS-W126DVC as my sub.

I need some feedback. Will these work together? Should I get something else? I need some help

Alright, obviously money is the #1 driver of what goes into your car before any other factors come into play.  But, if you could spare it, lets try to do a little better!  I really dont know tooo much about those two products, but i took a brief look at the web sites just now.  First the amp, I never recomend buying an amp that says 500 watts and costs less than $200.  You'd be far better off buying a quality 200 or 300 watt amp instead.  I guess a good rule of thumb is $1 per watt.  certainly not written in stone but its a good guide.  If your just starting and your anything like the rest of us, you'll want to be thinking of "future upgrade"!!  I would suggest going with a two or four channel amp for now.  Not idealy suited for driving one sub, but in a few months it will make a great amp for highs or mids and bridged will do the job just the same as a 1 channel.  So if you can spend $200, get a GOOD (JL, Diamond, Kicker(i guess)) amp that will carry you for a few years instead of outgrowing it and being stuck gettin rid of a big metal heater in your trunk.  As for the sub, I don't really know.  It's a little less critical of a decision on a budget system in my opinion because 1 12" isn't too expensive to begin with.  But again, that sub is selling around $100 and has a power handling capability of near 1000 watts.  So, its a beast and you wont blow it out (probably), but thats about it.  It's going to be power hungry.  I hear good things about JLw0's (but i just like JL soo..).  I guess the best peice of advise I could give you is go to a reputable car audio specialist.  If they sell it at Best buy, circuit city, or any other "big box" electronics store, it's probably not worth your time.  a single 12" is probably a good choice depending on your music, but keep researching brands!  I no longer like Rockford since they sold out and started putting out crap, but, I think i would trust a cheap rockford over a premier if it comes down to it.  Let me know what you come up with.

The best advice I can give is go listen to it in the showroom.  And remember that it will sound better there than in your car.  $1 per watt is a good guide, $2 per watt for real quality.  And don't buy off the internet until you know what you're looking for.

If you're new to this, you'll probably get sucked into the marketing & buy several really crappy pieces of gear before you get a handle on it all.  Don't worry, we all did too.  If I could go back now I'd get the good stuff the first time b/c frankly it's cheaper that way.
