is there any way possible to change the head unit on a car to an aftermarket radio and still be able to use the controls on the steering wheel for volume and track changing??  i have a nissan pathfinder and im putting in an eclipse avn2454 or avn5435.  thanks guys

Steering wheel remote adapters are available from PAC, PIE or Peripheral.

Yes, there are steering wheel control interfaces that include a remote IR eye that you program using the remote to your aftermarket stereo.  The Peripheral PESWIX sells for about $100 and will work on your Pathfinder.  Good Luck!
