Hi, there I'm new  to the  forum, and  I just  purchased an 04 Silverado and  I'm wanting  to run a  power  wire  for  an amplifier, just  needing  help in routing  it, Does anyone  know of a good  spot  in the  fire wall where  thers a grommet  or will I have  to drill a hole for the power wire. Any help is really  appreciated.

Thanks,

Jose

look on the outside (underhood) of the firewall....theres a spot where ther clutch would go thru if it were a manual trans ....thats the spot to drill your hole. With 8g wirw you might slip it thru a large factory rubber grommet....be careful you dont damage any wires allready in the grommet.  Make sure your cable is REAL CLEAR of the ebrake, and the mechanism. That thing willl shred a power wire

I put a 4 gauge wire through that factory grommet with no problems, 8 guage will go through there.
