ok i have a pioneer premier DEH-P770MP headunit and it has 4 volt preouts. on my amp around where do you think i should set my input sensitivity? i have a kenwood KAC-8402 4 channel amp 60x4. right now i have it at 1 volt.

someone told me that input sensitivity and gain are different although similar since some amps have both. is this true? and yes i have read all that before and it still didnt really help me out. proly confused me even more.

Input sensitivity and "gain" are the same thing on most car audio amplifiers. You must match the amplifier "gain" to the output of your HU, and you cannot do this using any marking on the amplifier controls. It must be done using a volt meter, or by ear using the "distortion" method. Please do a search on this forum to read how this has been described on here.
