I plan on running 4 amps in my car.

The mono D-class amp will have sub output from the HU. The other three amps all have pass through for "daisy chaining" more amps however I was planning on splitting my RCA's with Y-adapters.

Are there any advantages or disadvantages to either option? Mostly in regards to sound / power.

Cost and installation space are not an issue.

No real power differences I can think of since you'll tweak the gains on each, but I'd use the pass thru's for a few reasons - cleaner install, less possibility of impedance issues. shouldn't see any difference in SQ unless splitters do create impedance issues.

Many, many fewer RCA connections using the daisy-chain method, in this case. Each amp should provide a full-range output, so be sure to set amp controls to provide for that. The fewer the connections the less chance of signal degradation.

Build the box so that it performs well in the worst case scenario and, in return, it will reward you at all times.
