im gettin 4 12" w7 and 4 jl 1000/1s and 2 jl 350/4 and 2 sets of componant speakers. i just baught a new altenator it cranks out 220 amps i am thinking of getting a nothing 220 amp alternater to power my system and some more batterys is ther anyway i can avoid gettitn a nothier alternator. and how can i power this massive system

are you bi amping your components? also what vehicle is this going in ?

i havnt decided what im doing as far as amping the componants its going in a chevy ext cad silverado.

hey mike whatever you do it wont be any louder then a dodge dakota with 8 memphis 12's. just kidding why dont u find out how many amps your system will be needing. i forget the formula but im sure someone can tell you it here. find out how many amps 5000watts rms is. by the way i think ur crazy in the head. oh and hey where did u get ur alt from?

Just get the one HO alt installed and upgrade the truck's wiring. Check ground with a meter (read the ground stickies) during installation. Get two new batteries that are of the same age and type, and wire them in parallel (replace the battery that you have now). Run all your gear to the second battery.

The two sets of components should be powered with that 4 channel amp. I don't see enough amplifiers listed to do any bi-amping.

Your system should receive enough power with your careful attention to each detail of the upgrade. And you should probably be using sealed enclosures for those subs.

Build the box so that it performs well in the worst case scenario and, in return, it will reward you at all times.

ok thank you but it is recomended to port the w7s ive hurd i work at a car audio store so im just tryin to get other oppinions before i go out and spend the money

Take your power-to-sub ratio into consideration. The amps will each put out up to 1000 watts; the subs will each nominally handle 750 watts. Using sealed enclosures is the safest way to use that combination. The second benefit is superior sound quality. Anyway, that was what I was looking at when I made the suggestion...

as i said earlier mike, if you really want to use those jl 1000/1 amps then why dont u just go with 4 13.5s. then you can go ported or sealed with no problems.

Yeah, or you'd probably be good running 4 12w7's off of 2 100/1's if you went with ported boxes.
