Hi all,

Need some help here. I'm installing an Eclipse AVN2454 into my Lexus SC400. What confuses me is that the AVN2454 has a total of 8 wires with a (+) and (-) for each channel (front left / right, rear left / right). I need to connect these wires to a crossover, which has 4 RCA inputs (again, front left/right, rear left/right).

The problem is, I have no idea how to wire the headunit with the crossover. I would need a cable with to wires at one end and an RCA connector at the other end, right? I have never seen something like this. The RCA cables I know of all have an outer "shield" and an inner wire, and I don't have any idea how to wire the (+) and (-) to them.

Hope I explained this well enough. Any help greatly appreciated. Thanks.

The wires you are talking about are speaker level outputs from the standard Eclipse 15-watt RMS per channel built-in amplifier.  You cannot connect these to line-level (RCA) inputs directly.  Doesn't the unit have RCA outputs?

I can't believe I did this. I spent HOURS trying to figure out how to wire the HU to the crossover. I KNEW I was missing something really stupid ... and I was right: I simply forgot about the extra harness with the RCA outs. Wiring an Eclipse AVN2454 -- posted image.

Well, at least I found this place on my search for help. Thanks for pointing me in the right direction.

Yes, that's one thing I don't like about some Eclipse's- all the different plugs that go in the back.  Sometimes it helps to leave some out, so you can fit the unit in the dash.  You put the extras in the box, and hand it to the customer.  The customer comes back another time, and wants something added, but doesn't know where the box is.
My ex once told me I have a perfect face for radio.
