Air Space Differences In A Sub Box.

what will be the difference to my ear if i build a box to the smaller side of the scale givebn to me Vs. the larger size give to me by the manufacture.

for example: the pioneer premier TS-SW124D (shallow sub) has a box preference of 0.6 - 1.0

what is the difference to my ear if i built a 0.6 & a 1.0 box?

oh ok, i am wanting a tight, clean responce with very limited air space. so going with a small spec'd box will work perfectly for me.

so i should go with a 12" if i can fit one  to "regain" some of the lost lower frequencies of having a small air spaced box???
