I was wondering if anyone could help me out with a problem with my head unit. I put in a Dual XD6210 head unit into my car (1998 dodge stratus) about a year ago and it worked fine. However, recently, the display started flashing erratically while the unit is in operation. Any ideas? I also put in new speakers (Sony Xplod's) and an Amp (1000W Phoenix Digital) but the problem happened shortly before i put in the amp.

I am a former best buy employee and we carried that dual model and many others like it for a while.  This was a common problem we had with the duals, really not sure what the exact problem is, probably a short inside of the unit, but it happen on about 90% of the dual decks we sold at roughly the 8 month  mark.  No offense but its just a very low end deck with poor quality control and design from the factory, you may be able to get it repaired but in my opinion its not really worth it, save up some money and try to replace it with a more reputable brand.

Thank you. The reason i bought the deck in the first place (from Best buy, coincidentally) was that it was the cheapest cd deck available. It's good to know the problem is with the deck itself and not in any wiring connections. Thanks again, sk8ingsmurf.
