Interesting indeed.  I wonder if Rockford finally realized they got too big too quickly and are selling parts off...

I was under the impression that Fosgate never actually acquired Quart, but by your phrasing it sounds different.

Rockford Corporation indeed owns, or apparently now used to own, MB Quart.

That's right it, Quart was going to be re named as Third Acoustic, pathetic sounding name, reminds me of a washed out rap group.

Well I hope that Quart can still maintain its quality through these odd circumstances.

As I understand it, Rockford, in a moment of genus, purchased a part of MB quart, which was basically the name and marketing for the US.  The plant and engeneering was under seperate "company" which continued to operate and joined(?) with Maxsonnics, while MB Quart under Rockfords carefull gudence went bankrupt.

To me MB Quart is still alive and well. Rockford does indeed still own the name but has divested itself from the German side of the business and any other part of the business that was run into the ground by corporate deciaions gone wrong. Todays MB Quart speakers are brought to you by Rockford Fosgate by the cheapest bidder in China and sold here in Canada to unknowing consumer in Future Shop. These great impersonations are branded MB Quart, boxed MB Quart etc., but are a far cry from the once proud line that MB Quart truly was. Interesting to see how the old original side of MB Quart has partnered with Maxxsonics now. Time will tell how the line does I guess.
Top Secret, I can tell you but then my wife will kill me.

This sure is sad. I've always looked up to MB Quartz and respected their products; I love they way their components sound.
Do you think MB Quartz, the real MB Quartz, under Maxxsonics will continue to be the real thing? Will they change their name? If Rockford owns 'MB Quartz', I guess they'll have to.
