Hey Everyone,
I have a 2000 Jeep Cherokee Sport 4 door with a factory mounted cd/tape player. Fore some reason, both my front and rear drivers side speakers have stopped working, Im talking absolutely NO sound.
If you are at all familiar with the specific stero unit I have, in the bottom right of the unit there is a joystick type-of-thing. I can only hear my music when it is to the far right (directing sound only to my passenger speakers).
Can anyone let me know if should try looking at the speakers first or try to pull out the head unit?
Is this a big task to undertake?
Should I bring this to a pro? If so, please reccommend one, I live in northern NJ.
My apologies if I broke things down too much, I just wanted to be complete.
Mark

Before pulling out your headunit, try connecting a speaker that you know works (take one out of the passenger side) and connect to the driver side speaker line to see if the problem lies in the headunit or speakers. Since the driver front and driver rear are are both out it is most likely a headunit issue.

That or else take out the HU ( it's easier to take out the HU than taking the door off ). Use a battery tester or DMM to test for continuity on the driver's side speakers. Post your results.

go with velocity's reply, use a dmm, ( digital multi meter), there's not too much room for guessing there. if i think cight, u have a typical chrysler infinity stereo, i had that issue also, it was simply a bad connection at the speaker in my case but as we all know thats not always the case in audio.....................
