Hi all..

I have a pair of Kicker KS65.2 Components (75 RMS - 150 Max) JBL GTO626 2-way Coax (60 RMS - 180 Max)

I am not happy with the woofer on the Kicker speakers, but the tweeters are very good. I have a Pioneer GM-X944 amp in 3-channel mode, connected now to my JBL GTO1200 Sub and the JBL coax speakers.

My question is can I use the Kicker components with the JBL coax speakers in place of the kicker woofer? If not can I use the Kicker tweeters without the woofer?

Also any tips on cutting hard plastic? I have a VW Golf (2001) and the tweeter mounts (bottom of A-pillar) are slightly too small for the kicker tweeters.

i would really appreciate any help on this ... even just a web link. I have a $150 set of speakers that are otherwise wasted, and I am going on a 12-hour road trip tomorrow and would love to have them in before then.

The best thing to cut plastic I have found is a dreml equiped with a roto-zip plastic but. The dremel is lighter for using in the car and you can get more precise controll. If you are cutting larger then 1/2 inch then you will need the added power of the rotozip. As far as using the kicker crossover for differnet speakers you should be ok. Theres nothing magical about passive crossovers, in fact the kicker ones are made with very good componenets.

P.S. carefull with using the plasic bit I have found that sometimes it will vibrate violently and do some unwanted cutting, I beleive its because of improper rotation speed on some smaller dremel tools.

thanks a lot ... even if it doesn't sound good at least I know its OK to connect them ...

thanks a lot ... and about the dremel, I have been thinking about buying one for a long time but did not have the justification to do so ... still i think its a bit too much to buy one now just to install tweets ... maybe i can find a workshop who can do it for me ...

you could always use a file you can pick those up preaty cheap
