I have a Kenwood excelon unit, one with the rotating faceplate, about 4 years old now.  Lately I have been having trouble with it getting stuck when it is opening.  I have to manually push the face plate down so that it will completely rotate.  I had the ribbon cable replaced not too long ago, and I have ruled out any mechanical problems with the mechanism.  I had a bad fuse in the truck on the radio constant supply.  I replaced it, and the head unit quit doing it for a little while.  Should I try another power source than the factory one, or am I just suffering from an aging head unit?  Thanks for the help.
Good Luck!

try checking your grounds. that could cause poor connection and blow a fuse and let that face assmbly strain. and also check power lead.
