I have a 1996 Isuzu Rodeo and I am trying to install a Pioneer head unit.  I tested the harness coming from the car and the only wire getting power is the power wire, the 12v constant is not getting any power.  I've checked all fuses and nothing fixes this.  Is there some way that I can hardwire the constant from the alternator or do I have any other options?  What can I do to get this Head Unit playing?

Hey Matt, sorry to be redundant but you said  " the only wire getting power is the power wire, the 12v constant is not getting any power"  does that mean the the SWITCHED IGNITION wire is getting power, but you do not have constant power in the line ? If so, then all you need to do is run a new wire from the ignition wire ( BLACK/ WHITE ) and fuse this connection with a 10 amp fuse.

The switched ignition wire gets power when the car is turned on, but the memory/constant 12v wire is not getting any power anytime.  What can I do to wire a new wire directly to the battery?

that is strange....did u have a factory head unit in there before ? if u did was it working properly? if it was then there should be power coming from that 12 v power wire...u need to buy a wire harness for ur car in order u can hook up the new head unit....there should be a manual that comes w/ the wire harness that shows u which wire is the 12v constant...

The wire sparked when I put the harness for the Pioneer head unit, now niether the stock or the pioneer unit turn on.  How would I run a new wire from the ignition and fuse it?  Where and how would I fuse it?

There may be a blown in-line fuse in that wire, I have the same problem with mine, I just ran a second 12-volt wire. Not the right way to fix things, but it works.
