Okay I got a set of SS Van Gogh 12" today from UPS.  They are deeper than the specs I had found on the internet, so I dont think I am going to be able to get them behind my seats (single cab).  I have decided to remove the center seat and build a box/consol for the subs.  They will have to face different directions, my question is would it be better to face one toward the rear cab wall (say 2-3" away) and one toward the front or stright up?  I am just looking for some ideas as far a sub arrangement.

Thanks

Woofer direction is very important especially in a small single cab. Standing waves can cancel bass. I would build the basic box so I could rotate it and try the differant directions before permanently mounting the box. One of my installers has a single JL 12" W3V2 in a center console box in a single cab Silverado and it sounds best firing down.
There is no such thing as free installation!

I thought about downfiring one or both subs, but when run through the sag calculator the subs I have are not a good choice.
