Personal reviews on Eclipse DA7232

Anyone currently has one of these? listed below or similar eclipse products? looking to see what personal reviews are for these considering using this type of amp and sub for my setup opposed to the I know I have been an alpine lover but I think I should break free and get pair of these. tell me what you people think.

the amp is 2ohm and the subs are at 4ohm will i still be getting 2,000 watts rms off the sub or will it drop down to 1,000 watts?

I have that amp, mated to the SW9122 - the DVC 12" Titanium woofer. Amazing sound quality - fast, deep, controlled. VERY nice combination... The 15 inch woofer you picked are quad 1 ohm voice coils, which means you can get 1/4 ohm, 1 ohm, or 4 ohm loads PER WOOFER. Now the amp is not bridgeable, but, if you run one woofer on that amp, with two voice coils wired in series, then one two-ohm load to each channel of the amp, you'll be fine, otherwise, yes, if you want two woofers, you will be getting (as per the Eclipse techs) about 1350WRMS per channel at 4 ohms - the only load available in a two woofer setup with that woofer choice. 2700 watts into a pair of 15's!?!?! Holy CRAP man!!! That'd beat you to death! If you decide on one woofer, you could get the full 4kW into the one woofer. Your output would only be 1.5dB lower with one woofer and all the amp, referenced to two woofers with half the amp each. Save the space, save the money, and go with one woofer. You'll never notice the difference in output!It all reminds me of something that Molière once said to Guy de Maupassant at a café in Vienna: "That's nice. You should write it down."

thanks bro for the info however I do want to run two of these bad ass subs. a friend of mine runs two 15 inch kove subs and let me tell you sitting in the front of his tahoe is like a little kid going a roller coaster the bass pounds the **** out of your chest. I want to have something loud and nice for apearance purposes currently have another post on how to fiberglass if you can help me out with this pm me cause i have alot of questions.

If you want to run two of these subs, then one DA7232 amp per sub is in your future or a monster mono amp to drive both. Top Secret, I can tell you but then my wife will kill me.

yeah that was my original idea but haemphyst said that i will run 1 channel per voice coil so both channels i will be getting 2700 watts isnt this under powering the sub? which might cause damage to it since its rated minimal at 3,000 watts each?

You can under power a sub all ay long and not damage the sub, provided that you allow the sub (any sub) to adequately cool (as in do not run it at full output for extended periods of time) or in this particular case, do not have the gains set incorrectly as this would throw a clipped signal into the sub that it will try and reproduce until the sub fails. What haemphyst said was to think of your sub as only having two coils instead of four. Take coils one and two and hook them up in series. Take coils three and four and do the same. This leaves the sub as being a dual voice coil 2 ohm subwoofer. That will maximize the potential of the DA7232 amplifier at 1000w rms x 2. According to the Eclipse subwoofer, it is capable of handling 3000watts rms spread amongst it's 4 coils, so 750watts rms per coil x 4 coils or how your sub is wired, 1500watts rms per pair of coils. So yes this is underpowering the sub a bit, however, to get full output of this subwoofer, a much larger amp is going to be necessary. This is a great amplifer if used properly. It has gobs of power on tap. So one amp per sub   is the road for you if you want to use these amps.Top Secret, I can tell you but then my wife will kill me.
