ok i know its cheap stuff but im in a pinch for an amp.
one of my shops has a bunch of sound storm amps kickin around he has the f2350 which is 350x2 max and 150x2 rms at 4ohms. he only wants 125+ tax CDN for it and i though y not? its semi decent and its really cheap. also its only 2 ohm stereo stable so should i run my orion cs 12d (12" 4ohm dvc 200rms) at 2 ohms stereo or 8ohms bridged? im thinking 8ohms cuz it will sound better.

I would never pay that much for anything with the Soundstorm name on it.  $40 maybe in a pinch, and then only if someone was holding my dog for ransom.

Soundstorm is in exactly the same category as Pyramid and Pyle and Boss and Jensen.  Autotek blows it away in every category.  Hell, Jensen will too.   For the money you can get a far better amp.  Don't believe those power ratings, by the way.  That SS amp probably puts out a clean 40 watts before it starts clipping and/or the noise level goes to 20%.  Not worth the trouble, IMO.

Soundstorm is in the legacy, pyramid, boss league. The store i installed for sadly sold soundstorm to unsuspecting individuals like you, ,i felt like a complete thief when ever installing one.  Basically, the RMS rateing they give you is the MAX, and the real RMS is half of what they say the RMS is.  We had so many dead right from the get go it ended up costing us more on shipping costs to send them back then making profit.

Have some patience.  When I'm feeling frisky I'll check out Crutchfield's for close-out buys.  I bought a USacoustics mono amp for my sub (it's DVC 4, too, BTW) for like $138.  Crutchfield extends a 3 year warranty for defects even when it's a discontinued model.  In fact, that's what you should be looking for...a mono amp to power that sub.  It will use less power from your car's resources and match up with your sub better than a two channel will.  There are a lot of amps available, my son....patience and diligence will net you the gold.
Build the box so that it performs well in the worst case scenario and, in return, it will reward you at all times.
