Ok I just bought this 2003 ford ranger reg cab in july and am really low on cash. I built a box that fits behind my seats and I bought 1 "8 kicker comp. The volume in the box is only .42 instead of .50 but I am going to fill box with pillow stuffing. Anyways I really need help on choosing a good but cheap amp and I am also completley confused on how to wire this thing. I want to use the factory head unit for now untill i get some more cash, will a FAI3 adapter work? Also what other parts will I need?

you dont need to use that adapter.  a good low priced amp is the alpine mrd-m350. it has speaker level inputs. so you can use a factory deck.  it,s rated 200 watts into 4 ohms and would work great with your kicker. you can pick one up for around $150 .  the amp instructions will tell you how to hook it up the way you need to.

hope that helps

An amp power kit and some speaker wire if it isn't included with the kit.
