I bought a Audiobahn 4 channel HCT series amp last year and just hooked it up to my system last week.  I thought these amps were suppose to be good?

I have tem hooked up to my stock head unit with line out converters.  and they are running set of DEI components and a 12" polk sub.  after about an hour of hard playing the amp goes into safety/protection mode.  This is the 3rd time that it has done this.

for a amp priced over $1000 MSRP this is pretty pathetic.  the amp is A4125HCT which is suppose to be 1 ohm stable. and 2ohm bridged stable.  I've heard of people running 4 subs with this thing and no problems.  Did I just get stuck with a bad unit?

setup:

stock head unit with lineout converter(until kenwood fixes my 8017)

4awg power wire w/ 60A inline fuse, 4ohm

Polk Momo sub 300Watt RMS, 4ohm

DEI 6.5" components 50Watt RMS, 4ohm

I agree with your assessment of Audiobahn.  IMO they do not make any products worth their price tag.

Audiobahn, eh? The answer is in the question.
It all reminds me of something that Molière once said to Guy de Maupassant at a café in Vienna: "That's nice. You should write it down."
