Hi, I have a 99' dodge dakota and I'm trying to hook up a new deck.  Hardly any of the wire colors with the deck are the same as what's in the car.  I found some of what the colors go to as far as speakers and stuff.  The first time I hooked it up it would power up but I could get any sound.  I messed around with it and blew a fuse.  The second time it wouldn't power up. I messed around with wires it started smoking so I don't know what to do.  I will probably end up taking to the shop I guess.  I don't know what the pink wire is for or the GREEN/ black, some of the colors just aren't on the chart.

Hopefully you didn't cut off the factory plug(s).  You can pick up adapter plugs that will fit the factory harnesses, and have wires already color coded to hook up to new stereos.  You can even get them at Wal-Mart or AutoZone- or you could just take it to a shop.
My ex once told me I have a perfect face for radio.
