2004 Chevy Trail Blazer head unit

I just intalled a head unit into this 2004 chevy trail blazer.. lIt wont turn on!!!!! I purchased the wiring harnes for the vehicle and it came with an extra red wire.... Is this wire required? If so, where do i connect it?

yep; that red wire needs to be connected to a switched power source, i.e. the ignition harness.
Life moves pretty fast; if you don't stop and look around once in a while; you could miss it.

Thank you very much Horshockey....

But excuse my ignorance... But would you happen to know what color is the wire that im looking? This wire is supposed to be connected to a switched power source which is what color and the other end of the red wire goes to what on the harnes.. Im new to Installations so i could really appreciate the help!!!!

PINK in the ignition harness or you can use a switched ignition source at the fuse panel.
