Piooneer Stereos, reverse subs option?

When i was installing a stereo on my friends car, i was fooling around with the options i saw somehting called reverse subs what the heck is that. (I dont plan on touching that and we havent put the amps and subs in his car anyways) Just want to know what the hell this option does :P

this feature allows you to invert the signal a 180 degrees out of phase with the full range speakers.  It seems to be a case of trying it each way and seeing which outcome gives you more bass.  Really has to do with position the subs in the vehicle and trying to eliminate the sound wave cancelling that usually occurs when your subs face to the front of the vehicle and generally the front speakers back...

No, in some cases a sub is mounted in reverse due to mounting depth locations, availability of proper airspace or the person wants to see the back side of the subwoofer.

Reversing the subs is the exact same thing as changing the phase of the sub by switching the + and - wires.
