1990 Honda Accord Dx stereo wiring

Ok First off, the wiring harness of my car is cut, and the wires are a differnt color than the ones on my head unit wiring.. so what i did was get a wiring diagram for my car, and what im gonna do is find the speaker - + colors for the car harness then find the ones from the head unit harness and connect them that way..  is this the right thing to do?

well...first thing to do is get a digital multimeter (not a test light) and test the wires and find the power wires, (constant 12 volt, switched 12 volt, and ground)  then once you've found those, make sure there are no other wires that have power (dimmer wires, etc) then take a "AA" 1.5 volt battery and put it to the wires..once you get the speaker wires you will hear a scratching noise come out that speaker and you know which one it is.  

to install the amp the right way, run a main power wire from your battery to your trunk (put a fuse at the front within 16 inch of the battery)  then you take the remote on wire and connect it to your remot on wire on your deck... pretty sure it's a blue wire but sound like you could get away with ant rem .3 (i beleive that just means the output ability of that wire, .3 amps)  then take that wire along with your RCA wires to the trunk.

then connect the ground somewhere close to the amp to bare metal and secure it there (make sure nothing is under it if you drill)

now that i've typed this much. if you have any doubt you can do it, take it to a shop that knows what there doing  just so you don't catch your car on fire or anything else bad like that.

If the harness is chopped off, it's possible that you have a fuse or two that's blown.  As suggested above, test these wires with a meter.

For the amp, if there's a blue/white wire, this will be for the amp's remote lead.  If you don't have one, hook it to the blue wire on the new radio.  Test to make sure this wire has power when you switch to cd.

Again, if you're not comfortable doing this (especially with the amp), take it to a shop.
