Polk and Infinity are in the same class.  Choose the ones you like the sound of more.  Infinity Kappa VQ series woofers have variable Q and can allow adaptation to different enclosures (if you know what you're doing.)

Like DYohn said the variable q helps you adjust the driver to match an enclosure size.  It is supposed to help a lot versatility wise.  I personally like Infinity so that would be my recommendation.

That's my opinion. Take it, leave it, or correct me.

The question now becomes, "What are you doing with his weener?" Not that I care, mind you...Polk v.s. Infinity -- posted image.

I have Infinity speakers in my home setup and Polk speakers in my truck. Not that you can compare the two, but having heard Polk's home speakers, I would stick with the Infinity's myself. Just my preference.
