Looking for Subs

Okay, it's time to start looking for subs. Does anybody know if there is a sub out there that is free air, and is capable of handling high powered amps?

Actually, I have been looking at the IDMax. Okay, let me ask this then: Which sub on the market has the smallest enclosure for 10s and 12s. I see the IDMax is 0.6 for the 10s and 1.1 for the 12s, which is damn small. These would be perfect, but just want to know all my options. Also has to be capable of handling high powered amps. Thanks

What a manufacturer publishes and what a woofer actual does under application are two very different things. For example, JL's premier w6 braggs loudly about "Small Enclosure Excellence" but *everyone* who's worked with these behemoths knows that is total crap... Free air is an option, but I would rather a small enclosure speaker. I want a driver that I can really push and I want something I doesn't take up a lot of space. I've had two 15's, three 15's, and even four 15's in cars. The problem is they take up too much space in a properly spec'ed box. So, in this car, I want to tone it down. But, I still want that sound. In this car, I'm either going with two 12s or two 10s. I know with the free air subs, I am very limited to want I want to do and what the subs can do. Now, what I am doing is checking all my options for free air and small enclosures. In your first post, I don't know if you was being real or if you was trying to be smart. It came off as being smart. I looked at the sledgehammers by MTX(if that is what you taking about) and that is not what I want. Those are basically a complete setup from MTX already made in a box. I'm going to a Zapco C2K-9.0XD on the sub, so that is why I'm asking for a sub that can handle a higher RMS in a small enclosure or free air. Hopefully this will clear some things up.

You really ought try modeling a few different woofers with some modeling software... try this and perhaps you would be better able to choose your driver..
