my wife wants an after market h/u. and she does not want to pay $70 for the dash kit. (neither do i) so i made a console for it. and got it all wired in but one prob. where the heck is the antenna wire? their is no antenna wire (coaxial type) into the factory h/u. i followed the harness and still cannot find one.  i seen four wires running into the h/u harness that have foil tape wraped around them could that be it? i can splice and solder if need. any help would be appreciated.96 taurus, antenna lead? -- posted image.      and i even looked for adaptors but they were for a regular style antenna.

It's behind the left rear wheel well plugged into the factory amp/tuner.

You are going to need a long extension antenna to get back there as well.

Hey Menace, everyone learns for the first time, don't knock yourself, I'm sure there are things you could teach me.
