CD player connection confusions

Hey guys, I'm new to this forum and I was wondering: I am installing a Pioneer CD player in my truck, I bought a wiring harness and hooked it all up, all was fine except there was no sound, power worked and everything, just no sound. I found out that the harness was messed up, so I am planning on hard wiring now, but only one thing, I have a 1995 Ford Ranger and I have a premium audio system, and the wiring harness for my speakers has 16 wires with 4 wires per speaker? I was wondering why there were 2 wires per connection for one terminal? Would I have a factory amp? I don't know very much about amps. Any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks.

It sounds like you have a factory amp and did not hook up the amp turn on lead on the harness, should have been the decks blue/white lead to the harnesses blue lead.There is no such thing as free installation!

The remote turn-on lead from the Pioneer CD player harness .. will turn on the factory amp when connected.

One quick last question before I try, the there are two harnesses one for the speakers and one for power, on the power harness there is a blue wire and a blue/white wire, and my deck wire is blue/white also. I know you told me how to hook it up but I just wanted to be certain so I don't short anything out. So are you positive that the solid blue wire from the harness goes to the blue/white wire of my deck. This last question and i'll stop bothering, lol

It's different on some harnesses but the safe bet is to hook up all three together.  You won't short anything.  that other blue wire is provided for vehicles with a power antenna but i have seen it used to turn on the factroy amp.  I alwasy make it a note to hook them both up just in case that way if you do have a power antenna it will also work like factory. 

WOW, the new player works great! There was a factory amp in there, it just needed a little power, i cant even turn my stereo up half way without the woofers rattling like crazy, again thanks for all the help, the new stereo works like a charm.
