Whats up all, I am knew here and I wanted to know if there are any current master installers here that could help me out. I took the new computerized master test and failed but just barely. I passed the autosound, electrical, and security sections but got a 66% on the troubleshooting . I am not sure what I missed because there are no real set rules for troubleshooting and I was going off what I have learned in the past seven years. Does anyone have suggestions what I can do so that I can pass that section? There are no books put out that I can study from because it is meant to go off what you have learned in the past, but my biggest gripe is that not everyone does things the same way. What works for one person might not work for another and in this case is not the way the writers of the test want. Any help would be appreciated as I am going to retake the test in about two weeks.

You cant get it online, you have to pay for it and goto a testing site just like all mecp tests.

A study guide for this test will be out this spring according to CEA. I agree some of the questions on MECP are not written well. They are not specific enough and sometimes they are subjective. I hope the new guide and tests are focused more on experience than riddle me this type questions.

Just because you've done something for a long time doesn't mean you're any good at it.

That could be an understatement. Which answer is most appropriate is hard to deal with sometimes.

You should have seen the RCMP aptitude test, 3 hours of multiple choice questions and you had to choose the answer that suited the given question the closest.
