My girlfriend wants to mount her amp just on the back of her seat in her honda civic.  I want it to look clean though, anyone have any cool ideas?  Pics would be awesome!!

My idea would be to make a carpeted box with a plexiglass window for the amp to go in

Your primary objective must be to allow plenty of air circulation for cooling, so keep that in mind if you want to enclose the amp.  Installs like you described use fans for a push-pull air flow from one side of the enclosure to the other.  If you don't want to go to these lengths, you should consider a simpler install.
Build the box so that it performs well in the worst case scenario and, in return, it will reward you at all times.

yeah, i've thought about that.  Maybe i'll just carpet a board and mount the amp to that and run the cables through it.

Or i could mount it to plexiglass back-lit with neon or something.  That would be cool!

I'll get a pic of my amp in my honda when I get a chance. I put my sub amp on the back of the seat. I ran the wires under neath the carpet. The carpet pulls up fairly easily and there usually is a steel plate beneath it for mounting

I really want to do something that will stand out and make her friend 'wow'

does plexiglass 'catch' light, or do you have to scratch it up so that it refracts.  example:  wrapping a piece with EL lights
