I have a customer who tried to replace the factory CD unit in a 2001 Caravan. He has no sound.I checked his wiring and made sure he grounded the factory amp wire. The only way we can get sound is to plug the original radio(ground, power plug and a small white wire(data bus?)Then unplug it and plug in the aftermarket unit.If you shut down the vehicle back to square 1.Is that small wire a data bus wire and if so how do I get around it.Thanks Russ.

I believe the small white wire is the steering wheel control wire.

It will only turn on the factory amp if I plug it into the oem radio then I can unplug the wires and hook up the after market unit and sound will pass until I turn off the ign and open a door? Weird !!!!!!!
