I was wondering if the audio company VOLFENHAG is a relitivly good sub and amp maker. Also if they are, are these good products...
-ZX4715DVX 15inch 1200 watt sub
-ZX4712DVX 12 inch 1000 watt sub
-this 1000 watt amp http:///.com/dll?ViewItem&item=5841566705&rd=1&sspagename=STRK%3AMEWA%3AIT&rd=1

Volfenhag is bad.  Do a search for it in this forum and you'll see.

That's my opinion. Take it, leave it, or correct me.

No. *Very* uncompetetive gear.
For a 'quality' 1000watt monoblock, look to spend *minimally* $400... no less or your 1000watts isn't real.
Amps like that Volfenhagendaz or whatever are rated in such a way that precludes that type of performance in a car. To get 1000watts out of that amp, it is fed 18volts DC on a test bench, a 5volt input signal, and then measured with the gain *all* the way up with no regard what-so-ever to the THD or dampening. It was probably packed in dry ice too.

Audiobahn comparable. Looks over function, unrealistic specs, etc.

But it is a German "concept" so it must be good...

Alright well I am really not looking for competitiveness i am really just looking for some things that will thump. My friend has a 1300 watt Sony Xplod XSL122P5 and its only $110. Now is that sub thats comparable to the VOLFENHAG ones I posted.

Then you are on the right track.  Look for volfenhag, pyle, american pro, jensen, autotek, sony, etc etc.  There are a couple dozen in that category, at least.  And it would be foolish to spend more than $25 to $40 per sub, new.

After listening to this stuff for awhile you will yearn for true music reproduction.  It's called graduation.

Build the box so that it performs well in the worst case scenario and, in return, it will reward you at all times.

Volfenhag. Bad. Stay away. Long ago, I had one of they're amps in my old Nissan...it shorted and took two very nice Infinity Kappa 10's with it. Recently my friend didn't listen to me, and put one in his Civic as a temporary amp...guess what it did? His went wacko too, seemingly had some kind of short or surge or whatever, and took two beautiful JL Audio 10's down with it. Maybe we're just super unlucky. Or maybe Volfenhag just makes a shhh product.

Whatever the case...f**k Volfenhag.

honestly, I have been around for quite some time, and at one time I used to sell volfenhag.   I never had a single return on it, everything always worked completly functional
The only issues I had, some of the amps saud they would take a 1 ohm load, but they wouldnt run for long on a load like that.
Not the cleanest, but a good started setup

Volfenhag and Performance Teknique are the same company.  Both are pretty low-end.
