Ok, i've ordered a Resonant Engineering SE 12". So i drew up a box and i've just finished building it, sept for the top and sub cutout. Does it look alright, should i have used some bracing? (i thought the port would provide a bit of bracing) I used liquid nails quik grip to bond it, and 1 1/2" drywall screws (I should have used wood screws i know)
I took some pics so i'll post them up.
Never mind the door lol, Used to be my younger sisters room.
I just noticed in on of the pics the port looks off, it's not off like that. It's off on one end by about 1/16" which i think is ok.

I've always been told that any piece over 12" needs to be braced (including the slot port). I just built a box very similar to that and used 10 metal corner braces from Home Depot (about $1.50 each). They take up very little volume so it shouldn't affect the calculations you have already done. You can see a couple in the pic I attached.
You might also want to think about sticking an extra piece of mdf where the sub is going. It gives some extra bracing and allows you to use longer screws without them going all the way through.

the box does look good, but it does need bracing. To keep the walls from flexing and making the sub sound boomy and muddy. 1/16" in the port will change the tuning slightly. but it does look good.

Oops, guess I was a little unclear on bracing the slot port. Don't brace it on the inside of the port. Brace it on the outside like in this pic...
