Speculation system:

Hey folks, been in the shadows here on this site for over a year. I think I have a total of 3 posts…lol…but I hunt for info all the time and check the installs. I am finally starting my install on my truck and have selected some components and am looking for a feel on how the users of the audio world like them. Here is a brief break down of what I am going to do…any constructive criticism would be appreciated as I have not committed to anything other then the subs. The only reason I have the subs is because of me having a truck quad cab and I am limited on just what I can put in it. So here we go:

Alpine DVA-9860 headunit

8 inch LCD monitor I might do a 10 inch not sure yet.

Memphis 16-MCD500 amp for the subs

Tucked under the passenger seat

Kicker S8L5’s for the subs (DVC’s, 2 Ohm)

Audison SRx4 for the mids and highs I was looking to push a LRx 4.300 but the cost ratio for the amp over the road noise even with deadening the truck does not validate the usage. Tucked under the driver seat

Alpine SPR-17LP for the front and rear doors

Infinity Reference 5010cs 5Ľ for the kick panels

Here is the setup for the speakers: the Memphis will be juicing the subs for 500 watts.

The Audison amp will be powering the front door speakers as well as the kick panel speakers

The headunit will be powering the read door speakers for some rear fill. My main goal is front image so that is why I am pushing the rears off the head unit and not worrying about a third amp.

I am still leaving room for the third amp if needed. The pic below is a rough of what is going to come the fiberglass work for the screen will flow well and will off fit very well together still mostly looking stock other then the screen.

So…good enough? Thanks.

Here is a basic mockup of the setup

The basic difference between an ordinary
man and a warrior is that a warrior
takes everything as a challenge, while an
ordinary man takes everything as a
blessing or a curse.

sounds good but i would look into some different components because most people don't like the tinny sound that the infinity tweets make. but if you are gust going to use the mid ranges and use a different tweet go for it. the mids are nice in the references.

Too many speakers up front, keep it to one set of good components only of the ovrsize 6.5" variety installed into the factory location. Tonal response is more than adequate for most users. Get a bigger 4 channel amplifier as the Audison is s t r e t c h i n g it's power ratings.

You might want to look at some CDT stuff also. There are some really good deals to be had right now on it if you know where to look.
