I have just purchased and JVC sirius ready  head unit, I was wondering what I need to hook up the the sirius system. I was under the impression that with a "ready" unit I would not need a portable hand held unit at all. I thought I could get a tuner adaptor and antenna for my deck and all info would go directly to my head unit. Any help would be appreciated.

you're exactly right; you can just get a sirius tuner for you sirius ready headunit, it will include any necessary power connections as well as a data cable for the headunit and an antenna.

This is true, but make sure your head unit has a large display, Sirius is much easier (and better) if you have a lot of lines of display, much easier to navigate, etc. I have a sirius ready HU, but got a starmate because I wanted a better display.
