Ok heres the deal, I have a 97 Eclipse RS that came with the regular stereo system, not the Infinity one. My stock reciever was stolen, and I picked up the factory radio from my friends 95 GSX that came with the nice Infinity system. I know that the new radio uses an external amp but I do not have one. How would I hook up an aftermarket amplifer to the stock radio? And do you think there would be any other wiring problems? I've installed and it and turns on and everything, there is just no sound!

Buy an aftermarket amplifier which will directly power the speakers.  For signal input to the amp, use a high quality line output converter (LOC).  You can find one HERE.
Build the box so that it performs well in the worst case scenario and, in return, it will reward you at all times.

Yes, that looks like that will work.  You'll plug the DIN cable into the factory radio, and run RCA's to your new amp.

Steve- that won't work- he's using the Infinity system headunit without the factory amp, so he only has low level signal anyway.

My ex once told me I have a perfect face for radio.
