Power Problems Head Unit/Amp etc

well that ain't good directly shorting your system. but if it work after it may not be the problem. but you can't exclude it either and the fuse under the hood closest to the battery is for your amps. and should be check.

i think you have a hu problem if it was installed correctly then grounding out your amp shouldn't of popped it. unless you hit the remote wire(blue wire to amp).even then though.

you need to check the fuses for the hu in the vechiles fuse box. should be a 10 amp fuse check the owners manual.if ok then the removal of the hu is required to check it.

take a test light or multimeter and with the car on see it you have power at the red and yellow wires to the hu. you should see battery voltage there 13- 14 volts or a good strong light up of the test light. then check your ground for the hu(black wire). if ok your hu is probably bad. check it on a out side source of power befor you 86 it though.

It was in fact a blown fuse I finally found it under my hood in the fuse box. However the fuse that was in there was a 7.5 mini and the diagram in the fuse box cover shows a 10. Would there be a 7.5 in its stead for any specific reason? I did not change it to that so maybe someody who installed my system did? If not, would it be a good idea to put a 10 back in there to replace the blown 7.5 or just keep it the same (7.5) despite the diagram on the fuse box?

thank you for the update and that is how this forum should always go state the problem and let us know what the solution was. so the next guy that has the problem will have the info right at his fingaz tips. ha. as long as the do the search first. i'm glad it was only the fuse.

you should fix those power and ground wires at the amp. so they don't get touched together again. could cause problems. good luck
