what kind of unit you want the ipod to plug into, run a direct input if you can, dont bother with a fm modulator...

its an eclipse head unit, but the AUX input on the head unit sucks becasue u cant control the volume of the ipod with the head unit, you can only control the volume with the ipod, if i use a wired fm modulator i figured it would be the best bet as far as sound quality. and fm modulators are cheap so what should i get

I’m also looking into modulator solution. I’ve used a few different FM wireless transmitters, but find the sound quality is too weak. Just read some very good reviews at Crutchfield and other sites on the Scosche FM-MOD01 Modulator. I’m thinking of picking one up at the local Wal-Mart and trying it out.

Go with a switched FM Modulator, prefferrable the one made by Metra.  They have superior sound quality and a switch so you can disable it and get better radio reception.  All FM Modulators aren't alike, so chose wisely.  You can find the Metra Modulator at a local Fry's Electronics or at www.metraonline.com

Good Luck.
