I have a friend with a 1999 Lexus LX470. When it rains, the radio is barely audible. Once the sun comes up and I guess dries out the vehicle, the radio goes back to normal. Does anybody know where the amps are in this vehicle? Sounds like something is getting wet and shorting out.

is it just the radio? or any audio from the stereo, CD included?

Check the console or right of the glove box for the amp.
My ex once told me I have a perfect face for radio.

She says it's any audio (CD and tuner). When I find the amp, is there anything I should look for like loose wires or something that is common on the LX470?

I don't remember ever working on one of those, so I couldn't tell you.  Why not just scrap the factory system and start over?
