ok so i went to install my component set CDT EF-61's and went ahead and hooked up the amp for it today. i had my components hooked up to my headunit first, the problem is my amp keeps flickering on and off and the speakers sound like they are distorting as this is happening, the ground looks very secure and is 4 guage btw. im thinking its the remote wire. i should have the remote wire attached to the back of the headunits blue/white wire right and not the harness???

Use a volt meter to confirm if there is a power problem. Probe the amp's ground connection at the amp and meter across to the main and remote power wires to see if one or the other is cutting out.   The remote lead should be hooked to the radio's remote wire to trun it on. Check your radio's wiring as some have a remote turn on and an antenna remote wire. The antenna remote wire only works with the radio on and shuts off when using the CD player. The amp could also be going into protection mode do to a wiring problem or short circuit.
