Opinion on Amp Choice

Ok, I have 2 MB Quart RAA2400 amps. They are 200x2(4ohm) or 400x2(2ohm). I plan on running one for two 12" subs. I was wondering if it should run the second one at 2ohms to power my four doors. Two rear doors have a 2 way separates and the two front have 3 way separates. Each door would be getting about 200 watts dispersed among the speakers. Will their be any sound degradation in 2ohms. I have the option of buying a MB Quart RAA4200 100x4(4ohm). I like the second option because then I can still control the fader from the headunit and have more control over levels. Plus it would be at 4ohm and a little less power which is fine. Can you all please give me some opinions on which way you think is better. Thanks.

Ok so I am the type of person that worries about details. What about if I ran the RAA2400 at 8ohms giving each door 100 watts a piece. Would there be any issue since there are so many speakers in the set up.

Ok I mispoke, I understand ohms law but is there any truth to degrading the signal at a lower impedance. Where there be any benefit to running the amp at 2ohm vs 8 ohm sound quality wise.

In general, an amplifier will operate better into a higher ohm load.  It will operate cooler and will produce less noise, and will last longer.  So if the best SQ is important to you, use higher-impedance speaker loads.Support the12volt.com

   What you forgot to mention is what kind of vehicle is these amps going into? Because the MB Quart amps have a huge footprint. Reminds me of the old McIntosh amps as they were freakin' huge. Also be sure you have room enough to tune and adjust the settings on the top of the amp when you remove the allen screws from off the top plate. I dig the molex wire connectors too, I wish more mfrs would take note and use these and design them into their products. The amps themselves seem to be a Rockford amp with "EuroStyle" but Jesus are they huge...  good luckremarkable53

Sorry, it is a 2005.5 VW Jetta. The trunk is huge on it. I am still trying to figure out how I want to lay them out but I should not have trouble fitting them in. The box is only 2 cubic feet anyway. And yes I do like the connectors on the amps alot. I like that they kept all the amps the same size for uniformity.
