6 1/2 component speaker reccomendation

wanna put components in the 2005 hummer and i like clasic rock and and metal, iwant to know what u guys think are the best brands and most bang for the buck   thanks

Memphis Car Audio makes two different component sets that might work for you.  They offer the Mclass (mid-level) set in a 51/4'' and a 61/2'' set.  They have a Kevlar woofer cone, a stamped steel basket, and a MONSTEROUS magnet (which makes them hard to install in tight spaces).  The tweet uses a titanium dome (harsh sounding, but loud).  They come with passive crossovers with tweeter protection.  Decent set, retails for around $250.00 or so.  The next step up is the McSq line.  They are made in the USA, also have Kevlar woofer cones, smaller but more efficient magnets, a plastic basket (kinda cheesy), and silk soft dome tweets (loud as well, but not as harsh).  They cost around $400.00 a set.  I would go with the McSq just because they are easier to install due to the smaller magnet.  They sound good, but you may want to consider running a mid bass driver with them.  They don't put out very much in the way of mid bass.  Oh, I forgot to mention that the Mclass line can be configured as a coaxial as well.  You remove the plastic duster cover on the woofer and the tweet snaps into it's place.  Cool if you don't want to cut your car up to mount tweets.  Either one of these would sound good and get you out the door without breaking the bank.  Hope this was helpful!

How much do you want to spend?  Also take a listen at some local dealers.That's my opinion. Take it, leave it, or correct me.

Focal and Morel are awsome brands for sure.  I haven't personally heard Macrom.  I was just unsure of the budget he was on.  The Memphis' would definitely be the least expensive, but no where near the quality of the other brands mentioned

I've heard a lot about MB Quart and Focal although I haven't much experience with either one unfortunately.(that will change soon) You should try some Infinity or Pioneer. Pioneer isn't very expensive at all (less than $100) for some 6.5s, but I would go with Infinity if your looking for something real good. Great sounding speakers with not too bad a price. Infinity Kappa 63.7i
