making kick panels, Civic owners

I'm going to make kick pods in my '96 civic EX. Not sure if I'm gonna do 6.5's or buy some 5 1/4's but it doesn't really matter. My problem is this: where do I relocate the factory computer to? It is right where the passenger side kick will go. Any help?

so, are you saying that i need to make the mold for the floor and then take it out and finish molding the fiberglass out of the car? or do i just need to put some material over the ecu and then mold the glass over that, inside the car? also, have you tried this before?

(I think what jeff meant was that  you would...)take aluminum foil,  (a couple of layers...just to make sure there were no accidental holes made in the proccess) contour it to the shape of the carpet and area where the pods are going to go(with the ecu where it belongs) make sure that your covering of aluminum foil  is bigger than the area you need. but once you are satisfied with the layoutof foil, then start laying the resin and the cloth to make the bottom part of the mold, i have seen guys go from 1/4 " up to 1/2 " thick...i'm not sure what the recomendations are...but i've done 3/8" thick.  once you have that mold dried. take it out of the vehicle, then start making the rings out of 1/2 " mdf or 1/4" mesonite board, this is where the speakers would mount to.  once you have the rings cut, position them in the appropriate angle for desired effect...usually with pieces of mdf as bracing posts.  then sthetch out the mesh over the entire mold, resin it,  glass it ...and i'm pretty sure you get the rest of it from there.

there all wrong.  Simply go to advanced auto.  Buy wire modulater extenders.    All they are are extenders that are a giant wire harness that plug into the relay outputs of the computer so you may move it anywhwew.

teddy8846, why spend the money on moving the ECM when you don't have to ? He wants to fabricate fiberglass enclosures to house his new components and when you make fiberglass kick panels you don't have to move anything anywhere. The fiberglass will mold to whatever contours the vehicle has and can easily be mounted on the OEM kick panels without any further modifications.
