hey

does anyone out there know the true wattage of the us amps 100hc.  i have the older one that did not come with a built in low pass filter.  in the fact sheet it says it does about 800 rms in 1 ohm, which is how i am running it now.

thanks

The older USAmps were pretty honestly rated. I have no idea what they are like now. 800 sounds pretty close to right.
50/channel @ 4 ohms
200 bridged @ 4 ohms
100/channel @ 2 ohms
400 bridged @ 2 ohms
200/channel @ 1 ohm
800 bridged @ 1 ohm
The math sez it's the right number, but it is going to be completely dependent on how good your power supply is... Grounds, alternator, etc. As I said, they used to be pretty honestly rated.
It all reminds me of something that Molière once said to Guy de Maupassant at a café in Vienna: "That's nice. You should write it down."

damn, that amp can run bridged at 1 ohm, thats pretty sweet, does that mean it will run .5 ohm a channel. I heard that some amps can do that. but wouldnt that make the amp work verrry hard?
