Alright guys... I'm looking for overall SPL on these two.  I'm guessing that because the Rockford T2 has a much larger linear excursion that it might be louder (not to mention the triple stacked magnet).  They both have the same RMS wattage ratings of 1000 watts.  I would be building a box exactly to spec. with each one, but I want the most bass I can get with one or the other.  I would also be using either the Premier 1000 watt RMS 1ohm stable amp (with the premier sub) or the Rockford Fosgate T1000.1 with the same specs.

Here's the links to each item...

If anyone has been able to compare these, please let me know what you think.  If anyone else has an opinion then I'm open to that as well.  I have heard a 12" T1, but haven't heard the T2 series or the Premiers.  Thanks All for reading!

P.S. I don't care about the price as I get accomidations through both manufacturers that each round out to be the same price when all is said and done.

I neglected to emphasize the fact that the T2 would be a 10" vs. the Premier that would be a 12"

typically you will get a little more spl out of a larger cone area

but this greatly depends on a lot of different factors

I think you should be comparing a 12 to a 12

personally I think the 3004\3002 model is the best woofer produced \

by pio to date--I have one in my personnal vehicle

forgot to mention

if you are thinking about the premier combo

use the 3004spl model --coils in paralell

to the 3000spl amp--2ohms

The reason for comparing the 12 to the 10 is that the box volume is limited and a 12" rockford will not fit, yet the 12" Premier will.  As for the sound output I know that the cone area is a major factor, but the overall linear displacement is as well.  The Rockford sub has 3" of travel compared to the Pioneer that most likely has 1.5-2.0".  One question... Why use the dual 4 ohm to get 2 ohms when I could use the 1 ohm stable amp for less money per watt RMS?  Is it just so the amplifier will run cooler?

Thanks for your input.

I see my mistake in the last post... I didn't realize that neither of the Premier amps can handle 1 ohm.

I was wondering --if you are looking to ahieve only spl numbers or if you

want something good all around.  spl only - you likely have spec on a

ported enclosure-- and pushing the woofer at peak power it really wont

have great sound quality.  Considering you have space contraints-- a bandpass

enclosure is likely out of the question.  I would almost considering running

2 woofers instead in a smaller (one chamber) sealed elcosure. best of both worlds.

unless you have competion in mind where the cone area would bump your class

just some thoughts

I already have a pair of compression piston subs that are clean 10" under the rear seats.  I'm looking more toward competition and overall SPL.  I would use the current subs for everyday driving for best sound quality and the console enclosure for spl comp or just a friendly sound off.  Ported is my choice especially if I use the Rockfords.  I would build the box exactly the same shape as the box on Rockford's website for the T2 10".
