Hi!,
I was planning on running a Phoenix Gold Xenon 200.4 to power two sets of MB Quart RCE 216 components, and running two Phoenix Gold Xenon 600.1 amplifiers to power two Alpine SWR1242D subwoofers. I don't plan on turning the gain remotely high, I just want decent sound in the car, not outside. Well anyways my question is can I get away with running 4 gauge wiring from the battery to the amps?
This is all going in a 1965 Mustang

That should work just fine. There is a power and ground section under car audio on the left-hand side of this website. It gives you a chart of what guage wire to use for the specified length. (you might have already knew this) In which case your question is still answered.

I am assuming your mustang has a serious alternator and everything. If not get one. My 600.1 has a fuse rating of 60. I would guess the 200.4 is rated at 80. Thats 200 amps total. You will probably need 1/0 doing the main run, with a fused distribution block in the trunk. Thats ALOT of power. can I ask why not one 1200.1 Basically the same, but one 1200.1 will be alot smaller than 2 600.1s. and will create the same total power output.
