I'm putting a box (2x 12's) in a friends car and I am thinking that using Molex connectors may be the way to go for ease of removal in case he ever wants to take it out for extra trunk space.
With terminal cups you end up with exposed wires when the box is removed. Molex connectors just leave that white connector there when the box is removed.
Any of you guys use Molex connectors on boxes? Any thoughts?

Not a bad idea, although I'd use a connector designed for pro-audio like a "SpeakOn."   These are made to hande high power and not degrade the audio signal and come in a varitey of configurations.

hi,

maybe even better yet with using the "Speak-On" connector, would be to choose an 8-pole/position one.  use 2 of the 8 poles to loop the turn on lead of the supplying amplifier into and out of the speaker box.  then if the box is removed, the amplifier doesn't even turn on.  just a thought.
