Okay, I have an 84 camaro and i want to put 2 10 inch subs in the back.  My plan is to use the fosgate p210s4.  It is a single voice coil 4 ohm sub.  200 watt rms 400 watt max.  My trouble is deciding what amp to use.  I thought the p4002 rms fosgate amp would be perfect, because i would match the rms.  then i noticed that it was only 100 X 2 @ 4 ohms.  They would have to be 2 ohm subs to get 200 X 2.  Then I noticed that bridged it would put 400 X 1 @ 4 ohms.  I found the p2002 amp and thought that since it was 200 X 1 @ 4 ohms I could just get 2, and bridge one amp into each sub.  I have heard that it would be much better to just have one large amp.  And that i could bridge a larger amp into the 2 subs as if they were one.  What size do I need?  I want a good thump, but i don't want to burn up the amp or blow the subs.  how should the speakers be wired.  Series or parrallel or someting different?  I don't want to have to buy an 800 watt rms amp just so i can get 200 watt rms X 2 @ 4 ohms.  Thanks for helping.

The difference between 100 and 200 watts is minimal (hardly noticable), roughly 3 dB.  I say go with the first amp (p4002) and you'll be good.  Bridge the amp and run the subwoofers in series.  Alternatively, you could sell one sub, and bridge that amp into 4 ohms, or you could switch to dual 4 ohm subwoofers (in which case you would series-parallel them) to reach the same 4 ohm load.

The reason you were told to go with one amp instead of two is it's usually more efficient (less of a load on the vehicle's charging system).

My ex once told me I have a perfect face for radio.
